August Rose

My August rose was finished early this month, but I'm just getting it posted. This is a very fun challenge, and I'm looking forward to September! Continuing with the same theme, it is by Rosewood Manor from Bride's Tree Ornaments.

A Rose for Beauty - August

Done on Water Lily 28 ct. Jobelan with DMC floss, this rose design is from a book called Sweeter Than the Rose. This was a Leisure Arts book published in 1993 and it has many lovely floral designs, especially of roses. I decided to add a floss tassel for interest as the cross stitching is only 2 inches across.

May ornament

I've finally finished stitching my May ornament.

Designer: Blackbird Designs
Stitched on: 28 ct. evenweave that had been coffee stained
Threads used: recommended, except used Oatmeal instead of Straw Bonnet. The Straw Bonnet didn't show up on the fabric.

Design stitched over one.

Oops!

I just realized that I hadn't yet posted the freebies for August's theme of "rose", so that's been taken care of. All of the links should be working properly, but if they aren't, please let me know.

May Ornament

Here is my May ornament for my 2nd set:

I combined Joy and Peace from Lizzie Kate's Blessings of Christmas series.

I changed the border to black (not white) and the word to red (not green).

Sorry for not ironing first. :-)
