C's July Fish

Here's my July SAL ornament. Yes, I realize it's still only June, but I'm trying to get ahead, as I know that the end of the year is going to be crazy here. Isn't it everywhere?

This is a freebie design by Nathalie. I stitched it on a leftover piece of 30 count white evenweave with WDW scuppernong.

I just learned that scuppernong is a type of grape, while looking up the spelling on the 'net.

Jill's June Ornament

Well, it seems I am running a little behind this month. I don't have the finishing done on my ornament, but I do have the stitching done.

This is the Strawberry Fob/Pinkeep pattern from Little Stitches. Instead of using the suggested DMC Flosses, I used 3 DMC Variations. I will be finishing this and then update this posting.

Okay, as promised, here is my finished ornament.

June Ornament

I have finished my June ornament. I came from 2007
Just Cross Stitch Ornament Magazine. (Gotta love
that magazine). It's from Cherished Stitches.
It's stitched on 28 count with DMC floss.
I really like the 3 sides to the ornament. I've had it
stitched up for about a week, but needed to put on
the tassel and take the pics.
Hard to believe that we are half way through the year!

May Ornament

I'm nearly caught up! Here is my May Ornament of birds representing Joy and Happiness. This is a complementary design called "Woodland Joy" from Something in Common that I received with a purchase. I do love owls!

May and June

I've certainly been negligent in posting on my blogs and here as well, but the urge is stonger to be doing other things right now -- stitching for one.

May/June Ornaments

Hi Everyone,
After being on holiday the first half of May then sick for the second half I got a bit behind. I have caught up and I have finished my May & June ornaments. Both designs are from the Christmas Miniatures Leaflet by The Prairie Schooler. Stitched on 27 count Linda Evenweave with DMC threads.
Happy Stitching, Sue in Australia.

Pineapple for June

Here's my June ornament. It's a freebie available as a PDF here, or go to the Rainbow Gallery's website and scroll down towards the bottom.

A Traditional Welcome by Erica Michaels
Stitched on a scrap of 14 count off-white Aida with the following substitutions:
S933 - DMC 743, S909 - DMC 728 , S971 - DMC 744
S847/848 - DMC 471 only, S848 - DMC 470, E899 - Ecru

You can't really see it well in the image, but the cross lines are couched down. I thought doing the couching was going to be really annoying, but it wasn't and it went quickly. The couching definitely gives the look of the little pineapple nubs more than I thought it would.

April Ornament

While a bit late, here is my April Ornament! The design is called "Snow Bunny" and was purchased from Cross My Heart through Patternsonline.com. It was done on 28 ct. Antique Blue Jobelan. The bunny and the snow were done with 2 strands of floss and 2 strands of Kreinik blending filament. I chose it for my rabbit and the quality of Hope because the bunny looks so hopeful as it gazes up at the moon.

A new finish on my second set!

I finally finished my March ornament on my second set.

Designer: Brittercup from JCS 2008 ornament issue

Design: Poinsettia

Fabric: 28 ct. white linen

Threads: In the Reds by Thread Gatherer Silk 'n Colors, Sampler Threads Pine, WDW Curry (did not use beads)

Just joined!

Thanks for letting me join! I have stitched for quite a few years, but I'm so new to the blogging world like you wouldn't believe! I'm also spending FAR too much time "wandering in blogland" so nothing is getting done, gardening, housework, stitching. I do have a blog but keep forgetting where it is (don't laugh) so I will be back with more information later!

I'm off to the land of the demon thistles, also known as my back garden. We've had lots of rain recently and today is lovely and cool (90 yesterday, sorry, we left England before celsius came in) so a great opportunity to be outside.
