LEE'S APRIL RABBIT

I have been trying to stitch on each ornament something that is special to me,after much searching through embroidery designs I decide to stitch Benjamin Bunny, one of the Beatrice Potter characters.
Benjamin represents too, the collection I have of these pieces. there are now 43 of them.

I have stitched him on 40 count Permin linen which I have hand dyed using coffee. The thread is DMC and the chart came from the Cross stitch Book" The Tales of Benjamin Bunny" designs by Jeanne Bowers and Janet Powers.

Lovely ...I discovered the Beatrix Potter books as a young mother ... my youngest son adored them ... this led to watching the BBC series on Beatrix Potter, reading her biography, checking out books about her original watercolours, etc.

So seeing your delightful ornament brought back lots of lovely memories ... and the urge to head back to the library to revisit the whole subject.
