Jackie's September, November and December Ornie

 Hello,
These three ornaments conclude my SAL here of which I've  enjoyed stitching, falling behind, didn't know if I was going to finish, and played catching up. I am so glad I was able to finish stitching all of them and completed them to place them on my Christmas Trees this year.  They are all so beautiful and will treasure them as a way to reflect back on my 25th Wedding Anniversary this year.

So here they are.

September's Teapot finished as a tea cozy

Design taken from Book:   Better Homes and Garden, A Crosstitch Christmas

I just finished stitching my final ornament. IMHO nobody does a Santa better than Prairie Schooler. This is one of the Old World Santas. I chose a drummer Santa because my youngest child is a percussion player in his HS band.

Thank you for organizing this sal and for everyone who's participating. It's really been fun. I look forward to seeing the rest of everyone else's ornaments.

Jackie"s June and October ornie

Hello everyone.
Just wanted to post two ornaments I've finished.  I've been playing catchup all year, but really hope to get them all done.  So here are two more.

June (fruits)

October (pincone)

Hope you all like them.

My November Angel

My angel is a design by Little By Little and is in the 2001 Just Cross Stitch ornament issue. I thought she was a little different and old fashioned looking.

October Ornament

At first it seemed quite a challenge to design my own Quaker style ornaments when I couldn't find existing ones suited to my taste and my vision for my Bride's Tree --- I was determined to make the entire set using Quaker motifs. But as I completed another design and another and another, it got easier. Or to be more accurate, I got more accustomed to the discipline imposed by the Quaker style. The October Pine Cone is my own design and, in my opinion, the best of my designs in this series.

November -- Angel

Here is my November Angel.  She is my own design and I have to say I am quite pleased with her.  She is stitched on 24 ct Congress Cloth with DMC Perle cotton in # 8 & 12. I enjoy Hardanger

October -- Pinecone

I found this Pinecone for October in The Gift of Stitching mag.  I don't remember the year right now.  I changed the chart a little to make it mine and I am pleased with the results.

September -- Teapot

My teapot for September is stitched, I found the chart in Crazy for cross Stitch a UK mag.  There are several other teapots as well and I hope to get them stitched as well.  this was a fun one to stitch.

August -- Rose

This is my Rose for August -- I just need to add the cording and the tassel to complete it.  It is a small chart form one of the UK mags.

July -- Fish

Here is my July fish -- I am slow at finishing but the stitching is done.

My Quaker Teapot

Stitched in Belle Soie Hula Skirt, Peacock and Oatmeal Scone on 28 ct raw Belfast linen. The shape of the teapot was borrowed from a Cross Stitch Gold chart ... but, like a child with a coloring book, I filled in the outline to suit my purposes. I finished it as I have been finishing all my ornaments: a fringed pillow with a hemp cord hanger.

Here is my September "Teapot" ornament. The design is from DMC (DMC Club). I stitched on 18ct white aida with the listed DMC and DMC color variations threads. I stitched on both sides of this ornament.

Happy Stitching!

Moving Right Along

I constructed this design using Quaker motifs from some Workbasket charts in my possession ... in keeping with my attempt to complete the entire SAL in the Quaker style. I am currently working on a design of a Fish using Quaker motifs as well. With any luck I shall have caught up to the October ornament by the end of the month.

Finally: the May ornament

This is Aury's Bird in a Nest, stitched on 28ct Glasgow Raw Linen in Belle Soie silks Chester Blue, Chocolat and Fern Frond. Front and back views. A Quaker design, just like my Jan-Apr ornaments.
I have started on the June ornament which I am designing myself pretty much as I go along, since I couldn't find an ornament sized Quaker fruit basket chart. I expect I'll have to design the July ornament as well.

September: Hospitality

This teapot pattern, as well as the pattern for the letters, comes from Better Homes and Gardens 2001 Cross Stitch Designs. Several of the patterns I plan to use come from this book. The ornament is stitched on 14-count Darice white plastic canvas.

This is my first SAL. I only recently learned of the tradition of bride’s tree ornaments and I’m making this set as a gift. I’ve enjoyed the variety of patterns that others have selected for their work, and thought it would be fun to share mine as well.

August ornament

Here is my August "Rose" ornament. The design is from Cer.Pi.Ca. The title of this design is "Cuscino di Rose (Rose pillow)". I stitched on 16ct blue wing aida with my chosen DMC threads.

Happy Stitching!

May, June, July...

I got behind on my ornaments, so June & July are small ones so I could catch up - also because I have some finishing ideas that required them to be small.

May: Hummingbird (from a little kit)

June: Cherries (just winged this one)

July: Fish (freebie found on this blog)
I really need to start my finishing soon :D

October Pinecone

My pinecone is from a PS leaflet...if memory serves, it's called Holiday Harvest. I haven't had a lot of stitcing time lately so it felt great to finish this.

August Rose

Finally finished my rose (bud)...found this in my stash and I don't remember who designed it.
It was a freebie I found on the web
It looked like a rose to me and I really liked the colors and design.
So if anyone knows the designer, please feel free to mention it.
I also found the fish I want to stitch for July. That one was a toughy for me.
Stay tuned for my July ornament.

June -- Fruit

Her is my June ornie . I chose a bunch of grapes from a Dimension Leaflet that I have had for a long time. A lot of detail but I enjoyed stitching it.  I just need to make it into an ornie.

May -- Bird's Nest

Here is my Bird's Nest for May.  It is a small from one of the Dimension leaflets that I have.  It was fun to stitch -- I just need to finish it into an ornie.
