January February and March

I designed a new set for my bride’s tree because I want it to fit in the afghan that I have on my stash, they are tiny now ( the biggest is 35 x35 stitches) so I’ll be stitching them double as an afghan an also as ornaments.
They are so fast to do that I stitched the first three months in less than a day!!

March - Good Wishes
This is a little bigger than some of my other ornaments, but the new bride went to Hawaii on her honeymoon so I thought it was just perfect. The hibiscus pattern comes from Tropical Flowers: A Designing Workbook (from the Hawaiian Designing Collection). The pattern for the writing comes from Better Homes and Gardens 2001 Cross Stitch Designs. The ornament is stitched on 14-count Darice white plastic canvas.

Here it is, JUNE, and I'm only on February's Ornament. I do hope there's not a time limit. Although, I hope to have them all done by the end of the year. If that is not doable, then at least by the end of next year. I love this little rustic country ornament. It is usually not my style, but I have this cute little booklet of about 20 or so of these little cuties. I am going to do a bunch more. Again, this ornament is not a finished one, I will wait and finish them when a few more are stitched.

Catching Up

Here is my February ornament: Workbasket's Quaker Heart on Glasgow 28ct linen [color: raw linen] stitched in GAST Cranberry floss. Like my January ornament it features a Quaker design and is finished as a fringed pillow with a hemp cord hanger. I am going for a rustic country look for the entire set.

I have started on my March ornament, Quaker Flower by The Sisterhood, using the same linen as my other two ornaments and stitching it in Belle Soie Tortoise Shell and Lilac. I hope to have it finished by the end of the weekend. That way I have a shot at catching up next week ... if I can find a suitable rabbit chart to adapt for my purposes, probably by replacing some of the solid stitching in the haunch with a Quaker motif.

February ornament

Here is my February ornament "a Heart with Quaker Motifs". The design is from Interweave Press. I stitched on 16ct Antique white aida with Marble Thread (cosmo). This thread seems as if violet flowers are blooming. I love this!

February Hearts

Hi,

here are my hearts from February

As you will remember I'm doing the sal for my and my sister,

blue heart is mine and my sister's purple she loves pink but I hate it, so I took an intermediate color;)

February Heart Is Finished

My stitching was completed over the weekend, but I just finished the ornament this evening after work.  I'm pleased with the way it came out.

This is a February Heart I've stiched. This is a design of Russian company Riolis. I used ribbons and beads to make it look better.

See? I really haven't been slacking... that much

Okay, okay, so I stitched this piece about 4 years ago, but I only just got around to finishing it. I always knew I wanted to make it into an ornament, but sometimes the best laid plans....

Victoria Sampler Hearts of America - Hawaii
stitched over 2 on 25 ct. evenweave fabric with DMC and specialty threads

I stitched this as a gift for friends of ours who were married in Hawaii, and I thought, what better way to incorporate the "heart" into their collection than to commemorate their wedding day on a heart shaped ornament. I used the same fabric on the back and stitched their names and the date. I know it's a little after Christmas, but the recipient is my best friend, and also still has her tree up, so there's a good chance that this will be hanging on her tree in Virginia by the weekend.

Love Ewe

Love Ewe (by Lizzie Kate) is my February Bride's tree Ornie. I did get it started in Feb, on the plane to FL to be exact, at the beginning of Feb. But then other things in life completely took over and it was a good month or more before I even got back into stitching.

Love Ewe was stitched on Garnet 18 ct aida and a mix of Weeks and DMC.
