April: More Rabbits

This are three sweet little rabbits and I gotthem from  here.
They are so cute and stitched very fast.

March Ornament - Still Catching Up

This is my ornament for March: The Sisterhood's Quaker Flower stitched on 28ct Glasgow Linen [Color: Raw Linen] using Belle Soie Tortoise Shell and Lara Lilac, finished as a fringed pillow ornament with a hemp cord hanger. I am trying to decide which of four Prairie Schooler rabbit charts to purchase for my April ornament so I am still a bit behind. I am hoping to catch up completely in May.

My April Rabbit

A marathon stitching session last night and I finished this Rabbit for my April ornament. This is a combination of a couple of pieces of Quaker designs from my collection. I am going to finish all my ornaments together when all 12 are stitched so this is a part-finish mean time.

Catching Up

Here is my February ornament: Workbasket's Quaker Heart on Glasgow 28ct linen [color: raw linen] stitched in GAST Cranberry floss. Like my January ornament it features a Quaker design and is finished as a fringed pillow with a hemp cord hanger. I am going for a rustic country look for the entire set.

I have started on my March ornament, Quaker Flower by The Sisterhood, using the same linen as my other two ornaments and stitching it in Belle Soie Tortoise Shell and Lilac. I hope to have it finished by the end of the weekend. That way I have a shot at catching up next week ... if I can find a suitable rabbit chart to adapt for my purposes, probably by replacing some of the solid stitching in the haunch with a Quaker motif.

LEE'S APRIL RABBIT

I have been trying to stitch on each ornament something that is special to me,after much searching through embroidery designs I decide to stitch Benjamin Bunny, one of the Beatrice Potter characters.
Benjamin represents too, the collection I have of these pieces. there are now 43 of them.

I have stitched him on 40 count Permin linen which I have hand dyed using coffee. The thread is DMC and the chart came from the Cross stitch Book" The Tales of Benjamin Bunny" designs by Jeanne Bowers and Janet Powers.

February finished!

I finished up the February ornament for the Bride's Tree. I wasn't sure about adding the beads but felt it needed more...

Now on to April's ornament to be all caught up. Still trying to decide between designs but hopefully by the end of the week I will be totally caught up on this SAL.

My April Rabbit

My April Rabbit is stitched in style of toy Dotee Doll.

January finally finished - Maraline

I finally managed to put the final stitches in my January House.  This design is from 501 Cross Stitch Patterns, a book that was a gift from a friend.  I fell in love with the charming setting of this house and just had to stitch it.

My March Finish

I am happy to finally be able to show a finish of one of the ornaments.  This is my March ornament, a small motif from a larger design by Martina Wiehenburg for a competition piece.  Honestly this started out as a "sample" using some of the floss I was thinking of using on the competition design, but love it and decided it would be look lovely on my Bride's Tree.
My January stitching is almost completed, and then on to April.  I know I have a small heart that I actually stitched (candlewicking) several years ago, just have to get a photo of it.  I so want to use it as my February ornament (definitely something old......lol).  I love this SAL and really want to make the ornaments with things that not only fit the bill but mean alot to me.
