July, August, September

July - Blessings
The fish came from Fifty-Five Christian Symbols, Unlimited No. 54 by Designing Women Unlimited. The patterns include the floss numbers for both regular colors and metallics. I chose to use a combination of both for this ornament. The pattern for the writing comes from Better Homes and Gardens 2001 Cross Stitch Designs. The ornament is stitched on 14-count Darice cream plastic canvas.

August - Affection
I had quite a bit of trouble finding a rose that I liked that was an appropriate size. It seemed like many of them were either in big bunches or were not clearly distinguishable as a rose, but rather a nondescript flower of some kind. This ornament is the smallest of the set. This rose pattern comes from Better Homes and Gardens 2001 Cross Stitch Designs. So does the pattern for the writing. The ornament is stitched on 14-count Darice white plastic canvas.

September - Hospitality
(This was already posted to the blog back in September, but I figured I may as well include it so folks could see the whole set together.) This teapot pattern, as well as the pattern for the letters, comes from Better Homes and Gardens 2001 Cross Stitch Designs. The ornament is stitched on 14-count Darice white plastic canvas.

Catching up to August

Here is my August Rose stitched using an excerpt from Workbasket's free chart Quaker Flower, on 28ct Glasgow raw linen in Belle Soie silks Tortoise Shell and Sister Scarlet. Just like all my others in this series, it is finished as a fringed pillow ornament and has a hemp cord hanger.

August Rose

Finally finished my rose (bud)...found this in my stash and I don't remember who designed it.
It was a freebie I found on the web
It looked like a rose to me and I really liked the colors and design.
So if anyone knows the designer, please feel free to mention it.
I also found the fish I want to stitch for July. That one was a toughy for me.
Stay tuned for my July ornament.

August Rose

Here's my August rose ornament. It's a section of a larger freebie by Kirsten Schmidt (Kissy Kross) called Grow Some Love. I thought it was a perfect choice for this theme.

August Rose

Hi Everyone,

I actually finished my rose at the end of August, just been a bit slow at posting to the blog.

The design is a Prairie Schooler from a small card I bought on E Bay. Stitched on 27 count Linda Evenweave with DMC Threads.

Happy stitching, Sue in Australia.

August Rose

My August rose was finished early this month, but I'm just getting it posted. This is a very fun challenge, and I'm looking forward to September! Continuing with the same theme, it is by Rosewood Manor from Bride's Tree Ornaments.

A Rose for Beauty - August

Done on Water Lily 28 ct. Jobelan with DMC floss, this rose design is from a book called Sweeter Than the Rose. This was a Leisure Arts book published in 1993 and it has many lovely floral designs, especially of roses. I decided to add a floss tassel for interest as the cross stitching is only 2 inches across.
