March Ornament Finished

Here is my ornament for March. I am
so glad that I have made another deadline.
This SAL has kept me on task so far.
This design is from the 2007 Christmas Ornament
Magazine. It is a Country Cottage Needleworks design.
I left out part of the design to make it a bit smaller.

Good Wishes for March

Could I have waited any longer to get this March ornament finished? Don't think so ;-)

It was a fun one to work on. I have seen some really pretty ones that you all have done, and that makes me think this will not be the only set I'll make. Do you see that awful, nasty stain on the back piece? My 'new' iron spit some steam that was brown on it... I haven't done anything other than blot it to try to remove it. So sad !! But AT LEAST it wasn't the front; right?

April Freebies have been posted!

The list of freebies for April's Rabbit theme have been posted - come check them out! I've verified all the links are working as of this posting, and there are some really cute designs. If you run across any other free rabbit patterns (or patterns that fit any of our themes), please let me know and I'll add them to our link list.

The March freebies will be listed on the main page for the next few days. Once they are removed, they will continue to be available in the Archive section. As with any freebie, be sure to print it out and/or save it to your own computer when you find it, as designs can be removed by the designers at any time.

catching up - February and March

For February, I've stitched a beautiful heart offered as a Valentine's design from Dragonfly Stitches. This is on a mystery linen using HDF Phlox silk.

For March, I've stitched Sampler Flowers 2 by Peripheria Designs.

Finally! A Photo!

Finally, a picture of my little ornie for January. (See my entry of a few weeks ago about the broken camera!) I enjoyed stitching this one:
Prairie Schooler: "ButtonUp"
Lambswool 32 ct. linen
DMC threads
I changed the colors of the house to reflect the colors of our Yankee Barn house in Hanover, NH. This little boy reminds me so much of my Jason when he was young and just learning to skate for hockey practice. He was always so eager and energetic to do well! He still is! :)

Progress Report

Happy March, y'all. I have finally put the rhodes heart on my feb heart and tonight did my March flower basket ornament. I have to still do the hearts on my sampler but did the flower basket back in '05 when I started this thing...

Finally...My January Ornament!

Please, forgive my delay. But, I finally finished my January ornament.

Design: Christmas Eve
Designer: Brightneedle (from the Small Samplings booklet)
Fabric: Stitched over one on 32 ct. blueish/grey fabric with a small hint of green in it.
Threads: WDW & DMC
The pattern called for petite yellowish/gold beads along the trim of the house, but when I added them they looked huge and gaudy, so I removed them and liked it much better. I also did not add the stitched candy cane stripe border around the edge of the pattern.

My February Ornament

I first saw a beautiful version of this on the Freebie Gallery. Mine is just a little stuffed pillow and a little big for an ornament but I love how it turned out. I even remembered to put the year on it (I often forget). The free chart is from the Midsummer Night Musings blog.

Just a little late.

I have finally stitched up my January ornie, I decided not to use the design I had first settled on and started a new search. This is from Little House Needlework's 'Stitcher's Prayer'. I'm using a Heart in Hand kit for February's, and am on the lookout for a March design that is a similar shape.

Everyone seems to be doing so well keeping up - you are an inspiration to a slow poke like me!

March Ornament

And I went ahead and stitched the March ornament, got it finished this morning. It's again by Something in Common. I'm storing my ornie's in a cute snowman box I found during the Christmas holidays until I can get them finished.

My Feb. ornament

I had this done in Feb. but have been a bit busy lately and didn't get to post it yet. It's by Something in Common and there are 3 leaflets that are actually for the Bride's Tree Stitch Along. I think I'm going to do these instead of what I choose before. I'll have to go back and stitch the house in this group and will post it when I get it done.

Bride's Tree February Heart

This ornament has been finished for over a week, but it’s not completed. Just got it pressed tonight, so thought I’d go ahead and post it before beginning on March – Flower or Flower Basket.

The design is from Best Wishes Ornaments by Rosewood Manor - stitched on 22ct Aida in Oatmeal using two strands of DMC cotton floss.

Hi! Here is my March ornament/pin keep. I designed the beaded one to fit with a March theme...green/floral/St. Patrick's Day...and the colors are used are Weeks Dye Works Lucky (green) , Romance (red) and Amber (gold). I think the blue is Blue Sky. The beads are Mill Hill Beads. And I love the ribbon - found at a local fabric shop. I found the charm at a wonderful local shop The Stitchers Crossing. Cheers! Kim

Toi Et Moi - February

Is it still February at your side of the world? :p I've changed the design a little to add a heart charm instead of stitching it :)

Design: Isabelle Vautier (freebie)
Fabric: 32ct Confederate Gray Belfast
Threads: DMC
Finishing: To be finished into a heart ornament or a heart pinkeep
