Be on the lookout for patterns
I've been trying to find freebie patterns for each theme, and most of them are pretty easy - I can come up with at least 3 or 4 for each theme. Except the pine cone - it's nearly impossible to find a free pattern that will work. Or any pattern, really. As far as I can tell, pine cones are not an easy thing to find a cross stitch pattern for!
If you happen across any, please let me know so I can list them in October. Also, since it may be difficult to find freebies, ANY pinecone pattern suitable for an ornament would be appreciated. If you see a pattern in a chart or book, let me know where to find it. I have a few, but not many.
Thanks for your help!

Could we email a couple of the more active freebie designers (e.g., Maryse, Floss Box) to see if they'd be willing to design something for us?
I could design a pinecone if you need one!
I think you guys have some excellent ideas! I say go for it and see what you can come up with - either designing a pattern or asking other pattern designers to put one together.
Jennifer, I think I have. I'm going to search and I let you know asap, ok?
Jenn, it's not a pine cone but there's a Valentine freebie at LinaBear Creations. http://www.linabear.com/index.php?main_page=page_3
I just joined the SAL today, and as I was looking around at different things, I noticed there were only one or two free pinecone designs listed for October.
There is a really nice one here:

Go to grilles gratuites and scroll down the page, and you will see it. It is a reasonable size for a Christmas tree ornament, and a very nice pinecone.
