A lovely tradition from Germany is the Bride's Tree. It is believed that a couple's Christmas tree needs twelve specific ornaments for happiness in their life journey together.
Beautiful stitching and very clever framing ... I am going to have to try that sometime, myself. One of the reasons I love reading blogs is that there is so much creative cross-fertilization and sharing of ideas.
There are 12 themes for ornaments, and you're welcome to pick your own patterns or borrow an idea from someone else. There are no set patterns, only themes. Click here for a full explanation.

This ornie is so adorable!!! The frame is PERFECT, love it!!!
What a sweet tweet! I also like that it combines 4 of the themes - house, heart, bird, and bunny. You could stitch this 4 times. :-)

Beatiful! I love the framing.
It turned out very nice. DH did a wonderful job on the frame.
This is adorable and I love the finishing. Of course, remembering your husband helping with the framing will be a cherished memory indeed!
This is so cute!
This has got to be the cutest frame I've ever seen !! Hope to try this myself... and it is just perfect with your pattern theme... love it.
